Getting started

Does FieldRock work for my trade?

If you send people out to do work at a customer’s address, yes. Signup has starter kits for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping & lawn, pest control, cleaning, garage doors, pool & spa and handyman & general, each with its own job types, pricebook and maintenance plan. Anything else starts from the general kit, and every job type, price and plan is yours to rename and change.

How long does it take to get running?

Most of a morning. A new account comes with job types, a starter pricebook and a maintenance plan for your trade, so you can book a real job within minutes. The starter guides walk through setting up your team, dispatch, estimates and invoicing, each in about five minutes.

Can I import my customers from my old software?

Yes. Export your customer list as a CSV from your old software or a spreadsheet, then use Customers → Import. Columns like name, email, phone and address are matched automatically, you check the match and a preview before anything is saved, and anyone who is already a customer (same email or phone) is skipped. Up to 10,000 rows at a time. Jobs, estimates and your pricebook import the same way, from Jobs, Estimates and Pricebook; invoice and payment history are not imported.

Does it connect to QuickBooks?

Not yet. Invoices, payments and your A/R total are all in FieldRock and can be read off for your bookkeeper, but there is no automatic sync with an accounting package today.

Technicians & the field app

Is there a mobile app for my technicians?

Yes. Technicians install FieldRock on their phone straight from the browser — Install on Android, Share → Add to Home Screen on iPhone. It opens full-screen like any other app, with their day, directions, status updates, photos and notes. App Store and Google Play listings are planned.

What if a technician loses signal?

Screens they have already opened stay readable, so a technician in a basement can still see the job, the address and the notes. Status changes, notes and photos need a connection to save.

What can technicians see and do?

Technicians work from the field app, which opens on their own day. What else they can do — look up customers, build estimates, take payment — is set by the Technician role’s permissions, which you can see in Settings. On Pro you can change exactly what each role can see and do.

Google Calendar

How do I put my visits on my Google Calendar?

Open Settings → Integrations in the office app, or My account in the field app, and choose Connect Google Calendar. Google asks you to sign in and to allow FieldRock to manage events on calendars you own. From then on each visit you are assigned to appears on your calendar with the customer, the address and the arrival window, and moves or disappears when the visit does.

What can FieldRock see in my Google account?

Your Google account’s email address, so the app can show which account is connected, and permission to add, change and delete events on calendars you own. FieldRock only touches the events it created. It does not read your other events, your contacts or your email, and it does not share Google data with anyone or use it for advertising or to train AI models.

How do I disconnect Google Calendar and delete that data?

Choose Disconnect in the same place you connected. FieldRock takes its events off your calendar, tells Google to cancel its access, and deletes the stored connection straight away. You can also remove FieldRock at myaccount.google.com/connections. Deleting your FieldRock account removes the connection too.

Payments & security

How do customers pay?

Send an invoice link by text or email and the customer pays by card on a secure checkout page run by Stripe. You can also record cash, check, card-on-site and other payments by hand, including partial payments.

Do card numbers touch FieldRock?

No. Customers enter their card on Stripe’s own checkout page, so card numbers never reach FieldRock’s servers or database.

Who else can see my data?

Nobody outside your company. Every row in the database is tagged with the company it belongs to, and the database itself refuses to return another company’s rows — it is enforced by PostgreSQL, not just by the app remembering to filter. Job photos are never on a public link: they are only shown to signed-in people in your company.

Can I get my data out if I leave?

Your data belongs to you. A self-serve export is on the roadmap; until it ships, contact support and ask for an export of your customers, jobs, estimates and invoices.
